I never wanted to learn the same things as everyone else. Growing up as a kid, it was Karate. Then Tae Kwon Do was everywhere. Now it's Ju Jitsu and MMA. I figured that if I practiced the same styles as what's popular, then I would be at a disadvantage to the bigger, stronger, and more experienced opponent. But, If I studied something they didn't know, then I have the advantage of surprise! I was attracted to Krav Maga because it's not sport fighting. There is only one rule, to go home safe! This means learning what other disciplines are teaching and how to defend against them. Keeping and adopting the best techniques from any style, as long as it meets the fundamental rule of "simple and effective". Boxing, Karate, Judo, Akido, Ju Jitsu…all of it is represented along with street techniques that are not sanctioned in any sporting event. After reaching Blue Belt in Krav Maga Worldwide, I shifted from learning the system to teaching it. During the Covid lockdowns I began developing the methodology to teach effective self defense without a training partner or specialized equipment. What I'm teaching is what I do!
